Student Outing

THANKS SO MUCH again for the funding to take my students on outings to work on behavior and social skills in the community. It has been fun watching my students grow and get to participate in outings at school.

Yesterday we went to Animal Lifeline where they take in injured, handicapped, and animals with other injuries that need medical help. They help the animals heal and then adopt them out. My students used some of the money that you provided to make blankets to donate to the animals. The students then took the blankets to the shelter and played with the animals for awhile. They had a blast and thought it was the best time ever!

Thank you for all you do!
Have a wonderful Christmas!

Grant Thank You

On behalf of the students and staff at the Norwalk Middle School, I would like to thank you for the grant money for our water bottle refill station. It has been a huge hit with students and staff. What a great way to encourage students to drink water every day to help with learning and attentiveness. This was a goal presented by two 7th grade students last year after attending the Super Power Summit in Indianola. It has been exciting to see this goal fulfilled for the students at the MS. Please see attached pictures of the students enjoying the refill station. Also note, the station has saved over 3,000 plastic bottles to date! It’s a very popular spot at the MS for students and staff.

Thank you,
Laura Johnson RN, BSN
